Business Control is part of Global Services (GS) Australia and plays a pivotal role in assessing and managing the performance & risks of the business in line within our control framework, Client expectations and the regulatory environment.

The team is responsible for governing outsourced services, proactively analysing and managing risk, ensuring adherence to regulatory obligations and Business Continuity Planning (BCP). To achieve its objectives, the team partners with the business locally in Australia, globally and a number of corporate functions such as Risk, Compliance and Legal.

The role reports in to one of the managers within the business control team and will work with a variety of teams across the organisation on a range of activities and initiatives to manage and improve performance and risk.

Business Control team members must demonstrate strong process and control knowledge in an operations environment, ability to interpret and analyse data, support improvement initiatives, and maintain a high level of autonomy.

More specifically your role will involve:



  • Maintenance of regulatory requirements


  • Sample based testing to ensure adherence to control framework and regulatory requirement


  • Perform trend analysis and work on improvement plans to address issues


  • Implement changes to the business that are aligned with corporate and regulatory initiatives


  • Collaborate  with various teams across the organization, e.g.  GS Operations, Risk, Compliance and LegalProduce regulatory and other business metric reporting


  • Adhoc administration duties



This role is a 6 month fixed term contract and will ideally suit a candidate who can demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent


  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of operations functions, processes and controls across the fund administration and custody industry


  • Exposure to a regulatory and compliance environment (not mandatory but will be highly regarded)


  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications
