Commodities Executive - Market Operations Division

The Market Operations Division of Macquarie Bank is looking for a driven candidate to join the MOD CFM Operations team. The team is responsible for the processing and settlement of deals transacted by the CFM Metals, Mining and Agricultural business (MMA). Products supported include OTC Metals Precious, Base and Agriculture & Structured Trading. This is a contract role until approximately February 2017.

Reporting to the MMA Manager in CFM Ops your responsibilities will include:

  • Verification, Confirmation & Settlement of transactions
  • Drafting ISDA based Confirmations
  • SWIFT Payment formatting and messaging
  • Issuing and maintenance of client invoices
  • Liaising with a number of departments across the bank including Credit, Legal, Margining, Reconciliations and the MMA (Metals, Mining and Agriculture) desk and offshore CFM Ops teams.
  • Process the funding requirements for the various Macquarie bank accounts.
  • Rotation within the team which will include cross training across products and processes including validation of deal bookings, ISDA confirmation drafting and settlement
  • Assistance on other ad hoc Operations tasks

To be successful in the role you will:
  • Have minimum 2-3 years experience in an Settlements/Money Market Operations role or similar
  • Have an understanding and a working knowledge of SWIFT Payment message formats.
  • Understand the importance of controls, policies & procedures within the Market Operations Division.
  • Enjoy working in a team environment.
  • Be agile and able to work well under pressure in a high paced environment.
  • Be able to prioritise daily tasks in order to meet various deadlines.
  • Have a proven strength in attention to detail
  • Be able to work in a methodical manner and accept accountability and ownership of tasks.
  • Have good organisational, communication and prioritisation skills.
  • Be flexible to cover staff absences, busy periods and work public holidays as required.
