Your role

We are currently seeking a high performing individual with a desire to develop and deliver a strategic approach to business processes and have ownership of all end-to-end operations across Specialist Finance (SF)

Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, Specialist Finance, the Head of Operations will be accountable for the following:

  • Identify strategic priorities for the SF E2E operations and work with key stakeholders to prioritise initiatives
  • Drive process excellence in SF, simplifying and futureproofing processes that support the operating model
  • Deliver step change outcomes in the SF cost base via improvement in productivity and efficiency
  • Business owner for SF systems
  • Provide effective frameworks to manage internal service providers on behalf of the SF business.
  • Lead a team who will manage day to day operational issues and initiatives.
  • Drive step change improvements in key process metrics for SF with a key focus on customer experience and productivity
  • Adhere to Enterprise risk, project delivery and vendor management standards.
  • Development of a continuous improvement culture in SF
  • Management and oversight of Knowledge, Development and Training internally and externally.
  • Relationship management with key stakeholders across the SP&S business and the Westpac Group
What you need to succeed
  • Strong, recent leadership skills and be seeking a challenge in which you can drive performance outcomes and make a clear difference
  • A proven track record of leading high performing teams and finding opportunities for excellence
  • Reputation for delivering and ensuring business delivers against agreed commitments
  • Confidence to represent at most senior levels
  • Deep knowledge of financial industry, reporting, trends and can use information to make recommendations
  • Process transformation experience
  • Program/project delivery (including business analysis and change management)
  • Commercial acumen and financial management (business development)
  • Asset Finance & Finance Industry knowledge
  • Lean/six sigma
  • Risk management experience
