Lead Business Analyst - Business Banking Transformation

The Lead Business Analyst will perform and lead business analysis tasks primarily within the boundaries of a project, program and/or portfolio and may be expected to work across multiple projects.

These tasks can be performed from a diverse range of perspectives including Waterfall, Agile, and/or Continuous Improvement.

The Lead Business Analyst is responsible for:

  • People management of BAs within the portfolio, including coaching and mentoring of staff, setting objectives and conducting performance reviews
  • Project resource allocation and ongoing capability uplift of BAs on the team; talent acquisition and recruitment as required; portfolio planning and execution; and providing support to the Portfolio Director and PMs, as required.
  • Stakeholder Management and Communication: Identify stakeholders and develop and maintain collaborative working relations; lead smaller teams in eliciting and analysing business requirements
  • Requirements Analysis and Lifecycle Management: Ensure the project meets the needs of the customer and business and is aligned to the overall strategy by:
  • Leading the definition, elicitation, prioritisation and validation of requirements and design of business processes to meet the needs of the organisation
  • Defining and driving 'As Is' and 'To Be' processes
  • Best practice and compliance: Understand and adhere to enterprise methodologies and processes such as the Project Execution Framework (PEFm) and Requirements Development Framework (RDF)
  • Risk management: Ensure that risks (project and operations) are managed in accordance with set risk frameworks (Refer Operational Risk in Projects (ORiP)), including governance and escalation frameworks.

Experience required in this role:-

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Senior/Lead Business Analyst in major end-to-end business process re-engineering or business transformation initiatives, identifying and clarifying the business need/opportunity/problem and architecting the business operating model and business solution for process re-engineering or business transformation initiatives.
  • A strong understanding of technology and business systems strategically and operationally;
  • Knowledge of project delivery methodologies, i.e. Agile and Waterfall;
  • Knowledge of project management disciplines and financial services; and
  • Coaching and people development skills, with demonstrated experience in full management lifecycle of medium sized teams of BA's
  • Experience of development, planning and organisation activities to achieve agreed outcomes, identifying potential risks and planning appropriate mitigation strategies, across interdependent plans
  • Financial services industry (Business banking) experience preferred.
