About the role

We are seeking a Senior Analyst / Manager with knowledge of retail banking and financial services regulatory and compliance requirements to join our team. As part of the Risk Management Group, you will work with senior compliance professionals and business stakeholders to actively identify and manage compliance risks in the dynamically evolving Banking and Financial Services Group. You will work in a solution orientated environment to provide effective and pragmatic compliance services that promote positive client outcomes.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • conduct targeted and thematic compliance assurance reviews across varied retail financial services and products
  • perform periodic testing of compliance obligations against regulations and policies, and advise on practical solutions to improve processes and control design and performance
  • facilitate risk assessments with business stakeholders to promote better understanding of compliance requirements and control frameworks
  • engage with stakeholders in the broader Macquarie Risk Management Group to ensure risks are being managed consistently and activities are being co-ordinated efficiently
  • keep up-to-date with relevant regulations and industry standards
  • incident and breach assessment and reporting; and monitor identified control improvements and actions to ensure they are implemented.

About you

To be successful, you will be a professional with a proven track record in and understanding of risk management and the regulatory and compliance environment in retail financial services and products. You will also:
  • hold relevant qualifications in either Law, Finance, Commerce or a similar discipline
  • have experience in risk management frameworks and/or interacting with financial services regulators; with completion of audits or assurance reviews being highly desirable;
  • have good understanding of the NCCP Act and/or experience in retail lending products
  • demonstrate a high degree of commercial acumen,
  • enjoy change, proven resilience and have sound judgement under pressure,
  • have strong communication and interpersonal skills,
  • self-motivated and bring a high level of energy and commitment to the team.
