Job / Role Description
Supervising the EMEA & NA Rates Middle Office Teams responsible for providing control and support to the Interest Rate Trading Desks. The role requires working hours from 5pm to 2am to provide appropriate coverage. The team currently has 19 people and is responsible for T0 and T1 controls including performing lifecycle events (novations, fixings, mutual termination rolls and expiries), query resolution and reconciliations.
Reporting to local and onshore management the role requires daily oversight of the team and its responsibilities.
Ensuring that all risk items are reported and escalated appropriately to required stakeholders.
Leading the team in continuous improvement and process excellence through building collaboration across all business and support functions.
Designing, reviewing and maintaining KPIs for the team to drive performance and continually reviewing the design and operational effectiveness of the teams controls.
Building strong relationships across the organization to support the business in various initiatives or changes due to market events.
Mentoring and coaching a relatively inexperienced team to build up depth of knowledge and risk awareness.
Resource management to ensure service levels and agreements are met.
Ensure team members are cross-trained on all processes and eliminate key person dependency.
Providing performance feedback to Analysts.

Your experience and skills
What do you have?
Previous experience leading and developing a team. Preferably in a Middle Office environment however other Operational or Finance backgrounds considered. Understanding of Interest Rates Derivatives and market initiatives impacting operations.
Excellent English is required to effectively communicate with onshore stakeholders.
Ability to motivate and lead a team in process improvement.
Understanding of the front to back framework of investment banking and awareness of risk.
Ability to think strategically and analytically, being able to use your influence to find solutions to problems.
Ability to foster and leverage working relationships across the bank to assist the team in removing barriers and driving change
Great organization skills and time management.
