Primary objectives:


In his/her capacity, the Regional Head of BCM will:

  • Coordinate and improve all processes related to BCM and BCP across Asia Pacific
  • Implement all initiatives taken regionally or globally to enhance BCM in Asia Pacific, while taking into account local specifics imposed by context or regulator
  • Manage dedicated projects related to BCM or operational risk requested by Regional or Global Head of SAFE BCM

Major Accountabilities/Principal Responsibilities:

Duties


Regional coordination and support
  • Liaise with all Asiapac offices as well as Regional Heads to understand current BCP status and challenge their BCP readiness
  • Understand Global SG BCP requirements and implement these in the region; provide methodology and advice on BCP to all locations and departments. Control the completeness of the BCM coverage (BIAs, Strategies, BCPs, Testing) and the coherence across business units and support functions, across locations and with other regions
  • Ensure that SAFE/BCM is a key actor during major regional projects and that business continuity is properly assessed during all new project / initiative, especially Off shoring
  • Challenge and optimize the BC solutions mix in terms of cost vs risk mitigation
  • Provide guidance on preparing specific disaster scenario and share results with Management as well as the rest of BCM community
  • Conduct and or co-ordinate regional RCSA for BCP
  • Involvement in Industry groups and exercise to gain knowledge of best practices (e.g. : IWE)
  • Increase the awareness and skills of BCM in Asia, and develop a "BCM behavioral" culture in GBS and FO departments
  • Strong involvement in Crisis Management whenever it's necessary, and in coordination with all the departments impacted

Regional and Head Office reporting
  • Ensure that regular reports and key indicators are provided to local, regional and global management and that BCM governance, processes and policies are implemented regionally with adaptation when necessary. The reports to managementaim at providing management with a comprehensive view of the adequacy of their BC and Crisis Management capability.
  • Preparation and co-ordination of BCP reporting requested by Regulators and liaison with regulatory when required
  • Representation on Regional Committees and contact point for other departments (Audit, Compliance) for Regional BCPmatters
  • Participation in global projects and provide advice to Head Office on BCP issues
  • Work with Head Office on BCM initiatives and tools
  • Regional coordinator for BCP tests conducted by Paris


Profile

Key Skill areas & Knowledge required:

  • Strong knowledge of BCP concepts and lifecycle from a banking perspective; Knowledge of BCP tools
  • Good understanding of Investment Banking business, products and processes
  • Knowledge and understanding of Operational Risk
  • Project Management skills


Behavioural competency required:

  • Strong leaderships and change management skills
  • Be highly autonomous in the execution of his/her assigned duties
  • Very strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good communication skills and ability to convey messages to Top Management
  • Highly motivated and ability to work with a team



Qualifications:


  • Tertiary education in banking, accounting or business administration
  • At least 12 to 14 years of experience in banking industry, preferably in BCM department
