FX Option Middle Officer Team Leader


This role sits within the FXO Trader Support team and strikes an equal balance between people/process management and production activities. The role offers a great opportunity to further develop your operations management potential.

Trader Support's mission is to ensure all trades and events on the Front office position are correctly reflected in the relevant IT system/ database in order mainly:

  • for the Operations chain to be able to ensure a smooth settlement/confirmation for all operations,
  • for Front Office to have a clear and honest vision of their position and risk,
  • for Finance to be able to compute/produce economic and accounting PNL in due time.

As 1st link in the Operations chain, TSU is also the 1st level of control of the business.


Major Accountabilities/Principal Responsibilities:


  • Product scope: Option products (vanilla and some structured), or other structured derivatives
  • Modelling/trade capture of exotic product and deals in the in-house information systems (FO to BO) based on documentation (term sheets, tickets) provided by FO;
  • Control of bookings initiated by FO;
  • Ensure booking timeliness, provide justification for any Late Booking and Amend/Cancel, develop and deploy relevant action plan to reduce the associated KPI;
  • Monitoring of lifecycle events. Ensure integration of fixings, calculations of coupons and early termination decisions.
  • Improve booking quality control through close monitoring of rework on exotic booking;
  • Contribute to improving the booking platform through the initiation of enhancements and bug fixes and follow-up (UAT on deliveries).
  • Update/write down procedures linked to sensitive processes and controls;
  • Lead team members through day-to-day production and coaching. Ensure proper knowledge management and training within the team.
  • Contribute to local and global governance with FO, Ops and IT.


Key Skill Areas & Knowledge Required:

  • FX Options product knowledge (payoff understanding, lifecycle events) with relevant experience and expertise as trade support;
  • Good understanding of trader's job and hedging decision making;
  • Good communicator at all levels to interface with various internal partners (Traders, Engineers, Sales, other Middle Offices, Product Control teams, Back Offices, IT) and in different countries (Asia, Europe, America);
  • Team player with positive 'can-do' attitude and effective people motivator;
  • Methodical and analytical mindset: Ability to plan and multitask, handle Projects and the management of Teams production work simultaneously;
  • Good energy. Ability to handle high trade volumes and some pressurized situations;
  • Strong and sharp analytical skills;
  • Client-oriented;
  • English compulsory.
