Environment

The Regional Financial Crime Vice President APAC has responsibility for the region in assisting the Regional Head of Financial Crime Unit (FCU) in maintaining the SG Group FCU Policy standards (AML, Sanctions, Anti-Bribery Act, etc); ensuring the SG Group remains regulatory compliant in all FCU related matters. The post holder is responsible to provide expert advice to the business compliance teams and other business/support functions on a day-to-day basis in response to numerous and varied FCU policy queries.

Mission

Main responsibilities:

  • Assist Regional Head of Financial Crime Unit in providing AML/Financial Crime advice and handling AML/Financial Crime related issues within the region
  • Liaison with Onboarding, KYC Due Diligence, Business Lines, Credit/Risk and other relevant departments to assist onboarding new accounts in a timely and efficient manner
  • Assist Regional Head for ensuring offices within the Asia Pacific region are acting in accordance with all relevant regulatory requirements and internal policies/procedures
  • Proactively position company for Financial Crime regulatory changes and new developments
  • New product/business review
  • Training for staffs within the region
  • Ensuring AML reviews/controls are completed
  • Act as Regional Coordinator to work closely with Country Compliance Heads to ensure consistency of approach to monitoring and controls in local offices within the Asia Pacific region and assist Regional Head to check on quality of reviews and disposition.
  • Working with Paris, Americas and Europe/Middle East Financial Crime representatives to implement global projects and initiatives
  • Undertake ad hoc projects


Profile

Candidate Profile:

Education

  • Graduate level with finance / legal or other professional qualification is required


Past experience

  • Should be an experienced Financial Crime, AML and/or Compliance professional with at least 8 years industry experience


Languages

  • Fluent in English & Chinese. Fluency in Putonghua is an advantage, but not prerequisite





Technical skills

  • Strong working knowledge of global regulatory and financial services legislation as it pertains to AML, Sanctions, ABC rules relevant to the business line
  • Good understanding of the business line activities
