My client is a global consulting firm who are focusing on an aggressive expansion into Asia They are leading the implementation of a flagship project working with a global bank. This position would be suitable for an accomplished specialist looking for global exposure not available in their current platform, or a 'capstone' project in near 'green-fields' state. My client is a global consulting firm who are focusing on an aggressive expansion into Asia They are leading the implementation of a flagship project working with a global bank.

They are seeking an experienced Hadoop Architect to lead the architecture and design of a regional data lake drawing on at least 80 separate application platforms (to begin with)

You'll be confident, assertive and possess excellent communication skills. You will also thrive under difficult conditions and assertive deadlines and have exceptionally strong technical skills.


Responsibilities

  • As a consulting architect gather requirements, deep-dive use cases and business needs, and then translate into design and architecture
  • As the lead architect design a scalable data architecture that can process up to Petabyte/Exabyte volumes in near 'real time'
  • Integrate the necessary components and libraries to facilitate low-latency analytics
  • Work with security specialists to ensure conflicting regional/global data protection standards are met, and integrated with good practice technology and architecture design
  • Develop information architecture standards, methodologies, and requirements and roadmaps


Requirements

  • Strong experience designing and implementing big data and analytics solutions within the Hadoop ecosystem
  • Strong experience with data architecture, data modelling and data management and governance
  • Demonstrated project management experience
  • Prior financial services experience
  • Strong, impactful communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong English communication skills
  • Chinese or South-East Asian languages highly desirable
  • Masters degree or further post graduate qualifications highly desirable
