Information Technology Procurement Manager - IT Operations

IT Operations manages the IT infrastructure and supporting services that are critical for HSBC employees and customers, such as cost-efficient hardware, system software, middleware and databases, data centres, voice and data networks, ATMs, desktops and other devices. It employs around 8,500 employees globally and comprises five functions: Client Services, Enterprise Services and Architecture, Data Centre and Service Management, Relationship Management, Project Management and PMO, and Risk and Administration. Collectively, these areas define and deliver HSBC's technology strategy to support the Group's goals.

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Information Technology Procurement Manager.

Principal responsibilities

  • Lead or play a supportive role for designing and delivering global commodity plans and actions to achieve challenging strategic cost management objectives.
  • Analyze suppliers markets and support Global Category Managers to drive and implement global sourcing solutions.
  • Provide professional procurement support to internal customers to align with HSBC global vendor risk management policies and procedures.
  • Provide expert advice on commodity specific issues in the context of business and risk implications of third party supplier relations.
  • Managing Tendering and direct negotiation with qualified suppliers and provide support in analysis and reporting.
  • Collaborating with in house Legal experts to negotiate and implement best contractual terms and conditions for HSBC.
  • Engage and communicate effectively with internal customers and external suppliers to deliver accurate, clear and concise advice for effective supplier engagement and sourcing solutions implementation.
  • Lead to leverage in house tactical and transactional support to achieve the best process efficiency and internal customer experience in end to end procurement support delivery.
  • Apply proper use of global standard procurement system tools and best practices to ensure full compliance with regulatory and HSBC internal requirements.
  • Work with line managers to take training and self-development opportunities to continuously up skill self with procurement knowledge in line with market standards.


Qualifications
Requirements
  • University degree or above. Business, Procurement and Supply Chain Management, or Law professional qualification or degrees preferred.
  • Significant relevant working experience in contract management and third party supplier management.
  • Result oriented mindset and good business acumen.
  • Excellent presentation and influencing skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills, with a high level of proficiency in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
  • Strong project implementation coordination and financial analysis skills preferred.
  • High specialization and relevant experience in procurement for Information Technology, Global Banking and Markets, Banking Operations, Retail and Commercial Banking services, Digital and eChannels solutions, Marketing, Corporate Real Estate Management, Surveying, Human Resources, Consultant services, Travel, Business Management, and others.
