Global Risk is a thriving and expert risk management function supporting HSBC globally with all aspects of risk management. The team actively manages a varied and dynamic range of risk types, including security, fraud, information security, contingency, geopolitical, operational, credit, pension, insurance, financial crime and regulatory compliance, market and reputation risks. All parts of the Global Risk team use their skills, insight and integrity to handle established threats and those they see emerging, acting to protect and enable HSBC to deliver sustainable growth.

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Manager Digital Fraud Risk.

Principal responsibilities

  • To identify latest digital fraud threats and vulnerabilities in market and analyze them in a timely manner to assess if appropriate fraud risk management safeguards are in place. Conduct researches to stay current on digital securities technologies, trends, issues, threats and solutions. Evaluate and drive digital fraud risk monitoring and detection strategies. Deliver digital fraud risk education, awareness and prevention programs to risk function including fraud risk management teams and business.
  • The techniques deployed by criminals are constantly evolving to overcome the controls imposed by banks.
  • As a result, the role requires both an ability to identify fraud risks and an ability to consider a range of solutions to ensure that the Bank is protected in a cost effective manner.
  • Planning, conducting and participating in fraud risk reviews of business units and third party service providers in accordance with the direction of line management.
  • Providing comprehensive feedback on fraud risks in the areas reviewed and recommending appropriate remedial action. Including the implementation of systems, controls or training and awareness programmes.
  • Assisting in the development of a risk based review programme to maximize benefits of reviews whilst reducing costs.
  • Drive and undertaking day to day management of fraud prevention projects in accordance with approved plans. This may involve liaison with country fraud teams, business management, regional fraud teams and other Global functions.
  • Reviewing the fraud implications of new and amended products and processes and recommending appropriate action.
  • Developing and maintaining checklists and tools to assist local fraud teams to identify fraud risks and to assess their impact.


Qualifications
Requirements
  • Degree in computer science, information science, analytic, or a related technical discipline preferred.
  • Experience working on the design of Digital or FinTech products is a distinguishing factor.
  • Good understanding of fraud techniques in digital banking and other banking products.
  • Experience on digital fraud risk management a definite advantage.
  • Excellent oral and written skills, and able to communicate technical issues to all levels of the organization including engineers, management, and senior executives.
  • Tangible experience in cybersecurity combatting crimeware or Advanced Persistent Threat attacks.
  • Ability to pick up new technology or concepts in a timely manner.
  • Passion towards the latest cybersecurity trends and technologies in the financial world.
