Citi Commercial Bank Risk ("CCB Risk") proactively manages the commercial credit exposure of Citi's Commercial Banking  customers throughout the world. Responsibilities include credit analysis, credit approval, and active monitoring of the portfolio to identify credit migration.  CCB Risk works in partnership with Commercial Bankers and product specialists to make informed decisions through an understanding of the credit, structure and profitability features of each relationship.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide Independent Risk sign-off on Hong Kong Middle Market Enterprises (MME) credits and deal driven credit requests
  • Assist Risk Manager to develop credit programs, procedure and risk frameworks in Hong Kong to ensure compliance with Bank Policy
  • Review MME credit applications and perform financial analysis, credit evaluation and industry review taking into consideration credit, market, franchise and operational risk
  • Liaise with Relationship Managers and conduct customer calls/factory visits as required
  • Interact with Analysts and provide guidance on risk analysis and policy compliance on credit applications as necessary
  • Perform account monitoring on a periodical basis according to the criteria or triggers set for each MME account
  • Provides specific industry input and assists in the structuring of credit transactions as required by partners in the product and coverage groups
  • Manages credit exposures within the portfolio, including stress testing and early problem recognition
  • Identifies and executes risk mitigation to create new risk capacity, reduce risks and concentration to improve returns/capital allocation
  • Ad-hoc projects including working with product teams on new product rollout, analyzes risks and returns in terms of its potential impact on the capital and P&L
  • Annual/interim credit reviews of new and existing "product-managed" counterparties, including establishing PSE limits and setting credit limits
  • Leverages "lessons learned" to improve process and practice

  • Qualifies for a Risk Senior Credit Officer designation in 12-18 months
  • Senior credit approval covering large and complex underwritings, capital commitments, derivatives with multi industry experience
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in MME lending, remedial management or MME relationship management
  • Experience in credit risk management in the Hong Kong banking industry
  • Experience in and exposure to Hong Kong banking regulators
  • Demonstrates strong technical expertise and solid understanding of capital markets products, complex structures/associated risks
  • Comprehensive understanding of the local market, key clients, local market conditions and the capabilities and practices of our competitors
