Global Risk is a thriving and expert risk management function supporting HSBC globally with all aspects of risk management. The team actively manages a varied and dynamic range of risk types, including security, fraud, information security, contingency, geopolitical, operational, credit, pension, insurance, financial crime and regulatory compliance, market and reputation risks. All parts of the Global Risk team use their skills, insight and integrity to handle established threats and those they see emerging, acting to protect and enable HSBC to deliver sustainable growth.

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Retail Risk Analytics Manager.

Principal responsibilities

  • Support the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision Principles for Effective Risk Data Aggregation and Risk Reporting data framework for HSBC Asia Pacific to meet the regulatory data requirements
  • Understand key risk reporting data used in the region, review and identify the possible gaps in the data governance processes, perform the relevant analysis and reconciliation on the data in scope and carried out relevant remediation to the gaps identified
  • Lead and coordinate between different stakeholders in the region and Group to deliver the project effectively and timely
  • Implement a robust risk data framework as long term solution to meet the regulatory data requirements in an accurate and timely
  • Understand and translate the regulatory requirements into actionable plans and deliverables
  • Ensure quality data is used in producing various regulatory reports
  • Understand the relationship between different data sources and data definition for accurate and managed ad hoc and regular analytic report generation

  • An undergraduate or post graduate degree in relevant disciplines
  • Ability to understand complex credit risk systems and its relationships
  • Relevant experiences in risk management in financial services industry
  • Strong project management skills required
  • Broad understanding of regulatory requirements, such as Basel, International Financial Reporting Standard 9, Basel Committee on Banking Supervision and Stress Testing
  • Business as well as technical orientation, with the ability to communicate effectively with both business and Information Technology teams
  • Ability to prioritize effectively and meet tight deadlines
