Global Risk is a thriving and expert risk management function supporting HSBC globally with all aspects of risk management. The team actively manages a varied and dynamic range of risk types, including security, fraud, information security, contingency, geopolitical, operational, credit, pension, insurance, financial crime and regulatory compliance, market and reputation risks. All parts of the Global Risk team use their skills, insight and integrity to handle established threats and those they see emerging, acting to protect and enable HSBC to deliver sustainable growth.

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Senior Mortgage Lending Officer, Staff Lending.

Principal responsibilities

  • Flawlessly execute credit policies and operational processes relating to Staff Lending
  • Meet or exceed productivity and quality standards set, and Service Level Agreement agreed and ensure optimal resource utilization
  • Make recommendations on policy changes and process reviews in line with changing Human Resources and Regulatory environment
  • Support improvement of processing efficiencies through reengineering initiatives, business, customer and employee feedback
  • Maintain and ensure due observance of regulatory requirements such as Hong Kong Banking Ordinances and HKMA Prudential Measures on Residential Mortgage Loans and HSBC Internal Control Standards, including the timely implementation of recommendations made by internal or external auditors and external regulators
  • Ensure awareness of compliance requirements and implementation of Group Compliance Policy
  • Maintain awareness of operational risk including its identification, assessment, mitigation and control, loss identification and reporting in accordance with Group Operations Functional Instructional Manuals

  • University degree in an appropriate discipline
  • Relevant work experience in credit underwriting and processing environment
  • Ability to initiate process improvements to enhance efficiency and contain operation cost
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and influencing skills
  • Excellent decision making and problem solving ability
