Global Risk is a thriving and expert risk management function supporting HSBC globally with all aspects of risk management. The team actively manages a varied and dynamic range of risk types, including security, fraud, information security, contingency, geopolitical, operational, credit, pension, insurance, financial crime and regulatory compliance, market and reputation risks. All parts of the Global Risk team use their skills, insight and integrity to handle established threats and those they see emerging, acting to protect and enable HSBC to deliver sustainable growth.

 

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Senior Regional Business Manager.

 

In this role, you will

Develop financial management capability for Wholesale Credit and Market Risk to enable planning, budgeting, forecasting and controlling of expenses and headcounts. Provide Global Risk Analytics  with business management support in conjunction with the global business manager.

Oversee and support the hiring request process and ensure structural alignment to the Risk blueprint. Challenge hiring requests where appropriate.

Partner with Communications, Finance, HR and IT to drive business management initiatives and other activities in line with global and regional strategies and priorities, across sub functions and geographies. 

Oversee and direct business continuity and administrative activities.

Drive the embedment and ongoing compliance of policies, rules and guidelines.

Drive the development and implementation of standardized processes and practices.

Manage team events and preparation of scripts, presentations and other materials for senior executives.

Lead efforts to plan and drive large scale as well as significant events and staff engagement activities.

Implement people and communication strategies.

 

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements

Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Risk Management, Information Systems or a related field

Knowledge of retail banking, credit risk management and analytics is a definite advantage.

Experience in business management specializing in communications, people development and event management

Experience in strategic planning implementation and navigating through a matrix organizational structure

Experience in working across cultures in a regulated environment

Equipped with financial and accounting acumen and the ability to budget, track and control expenditures

Equipped with strong leadership, analytical and project management skills

Ability to drive compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures

Ability to build relationships by communicating, influencing and negotiating effectively with business heads and senior managers

Ability to articulate complex and sensitive information and situations in meaningful and concise ways

Ability to prioritize conflicting demands and problem solve
