We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Senior Risk and Control Manager.

Principal responsibilities

  • The role holder is responsible for working in partnership with Regional HSBC Operations, Services and Technology Business Risk and Control Management and HSBC Operations, Services and Technology Function Business Risk Control Management teams, for ensuring that risks in HSBC Operations, Services and Technology in support of Hong Kong businesses is managed within acceptable parameters
  • Manage effective oversight and governance arrangements in respect of HSBC Operations, Services and Technology Function Business Risk Control Management teams, specifically support Chief Risk and Administration Officer Hong Kong who manages the HSBC Operations, Services and Technology Risk Governance Meetings with HSBC Operations, Services and Technology Senior Management, HSBC Operations, Services and Technology Function Business Risk Control Managements, relevant second line of defence, such as Operational Risk, Information Security Risk, Regulatory Compliance and Group Internal Audit
  • Establish effective governance mechanisms to ensure that risk within HSBC Operations, Services and Technology in support of Hong Kong businesses is managed within acceptable parameters or risk appetite statement
  • Manage reporting the status of risks and issues to local regulators in Hong Kong such as Hong Kong Monetary Authority, and HSBC Operations, Services and Technology senior management team including the Chief Operating Officer Hong Kong
  • Contribute to the overall HSBC Operations, Services and Technology Business Risk Control Management strategy and HSBC Operations, Services and Technology Function Business Risk Control Management plans, for example, for internal control testing and Risk Control Assessment scoping, and ensure that the circumstances and requirements in Hong Kong are understood and communicated.
  • Act as the interface with HSBC Operations, Services and Technology Function Business Risk Control Management teams, Operational Risk, Information Security Risk, Regulatory Compliance and Internal Audit, as required by HSBC Operations, Services and Technology and Businesses Hong Kong management for any matters of HSBC Operations, Services and Technology risks in Hong Kong
  • Provide effective support and consultancy on Risk and Control matters to HSBC Operations, Services and Technology Function Business Risk and Control Management
  • Work effectively with HSBC Operations, Services and Technology Function Business Risk and Control Management teams as a virtual team to implement the appropriate controls and monitoring
  • Support HSBC Operations, Services and Technology Function Business Risk and Control Managements to ensure HSBC Operations, Services and Technology Hong Kong comply with all internal Group standards and regulatory requirements, especially take the leadership of the Technology Risk Management and its annual assessment required by regulators
  • Ensure that Information Technology Sarbanes Oxley testing is coordinated and completed, with all exceptions appropriately reported, signed off and addressed
  • Provide effective support to external working partners such as external auditors
  • Work as key part of the Chief Operating Officer Office, in support of all requirements from Chief Risk and Administration Officer and Chief Operating Officer Hong Kong.


Qualifications
Requirements
  • University Graduate
  • Proven experience in Information Technology and Operations
  • Professional audit or operational risk management qualification
  • Proven experience in audit management or compliance are preferred for this role
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to influence people at all levels
  • Outstanding understanding of HSBC structures, processes and platforms
  • Strong analytical skills and risk awareness
  • Highly independent, self-driven and resilient
  • Excellent relationship management and coordination skills
