The successful candidate will work in the Enterprise Risk Management Team and will be responsible for risk governance, reporting, research and group policy management.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement and maintain the HKEX Group risk governance framework. Administer the risk management committees, including meeting coordination, preparation of committee risk reports, meeting minutes, liaison with members and various government bodies / regulators on risk committee matters
  • Develop, implement and maintain HKEX Group enterprise risk management framework, policy and standards. Ensure alignment, integration and consistency of risk management across HKEX Group companies. Identify and address variances
  • Deliver enterprise risk management operational reporting. Establish qualitative and quantitative metrics. Lead on risk benchmarking activities
  • Deliver enterprise risk management research and trend analysis. Provide thought leadership on industry direction and changes.  Keep senior management and relevant stakeholders informed 
  • Develop, implement and maintain a risk education and awareness training programme. Present training sessions, develop online awareness training modules, publish training material   
  • Ensure risk management practices are regularly assessed and updated to reflect applicable risk appetite statements, regulatory requirements and risk committee direction
  • Administer and oversee management of all Group policies. Provide quality assurance of Group policy development, govern review cycles to ensure policy compliance, maintain Group policy template and approval process   
  • Provide support to the head of enterprise risk management in managing the day-to-day responsibilities of the risk team including development, delegation, ongoing assessment and project activities   
  • Develop enterprise risk management team budget and management of cost code
  • Lead on or support the resolution of audit actions


  • Master’s degree or equivalent in quantitative finance, mathematics, economics or risk related discipline
  • An intelligent, articulate, consensus building, persuasive individual with highly effective communication skills
  • 10+ years' risk experience at a top tier financial institution
  • Track record working at management committee and board level
  • Proven record of financial institution (Banks, Brokers and Insurance firms) risk management
  • Understanding of clearing and exchange house operations
  • Ability to explain complex methodology to wide ranging audience
  • Good judgment and clear decision making ability
  • Ability to prioritize workload in order to meet deadlines and to manage expectations
  • Strong numerical competency
  • Effective critical analysis and reasoning skills
  • Ability to act as part of a small team and also autonomously upon own initiative as required
  • Clear and logical thinker with ability to make rational decisions when under pressure
  • Self-starter with a high degree of accuracy and strong attention to detail
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
