The successful candidate will work in the Risk Policy, Systems and Strategy Team for HKEX group. He / She is expected to:

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support efforts across HKEX Central Clearing Counterparties (CCPs) in new risk management initiatives such as policy alignment reviews, risk reporting implementation and other clearing risk management related projects
  • Identify areas where efficiencies and improvements of existing risk management policies and/or systems, including capital & collateral savings for clearing members and market participants
  • Provide recommendations supported by analysis, research and benchmarking against market best practices as well as changes in regulations   
  • Lead, plan, coordinate project tasks such as business analysis to support the development of requirements for various risk management initiatives
  • Provide project management support on new risk management enhancement initiatives
  • Identify strategic opportunities in order to initiate, develop and recommend risk practices and policies in line with the group strategy
  • Formulate and draft policies and procedures as necessary pertaining to risk management measures
  • Communicate effectively on risk management to both internal and external stakeholders through either ad hoc or more structured channels
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders for implementation of new initiatives


  • University Degree, preferably in Risk Management, Finance, Economics or a related field of study
  • Holder of relevant professional qualification, preferably MBA, MS in Finance, FRM or CFA
  • At least 10 years’ relevant experience in credit risk policy and/or regulatory capital management at a CCP, bank, asset manager or hedge fund is preferred, of which at least 3 years at management level, preferably in well-established financial organizations; experience with global or regional CCP is an advantage
  • Knowledge of and experience with international regulatory requirements including, but necessarily not limited to, Basel Committee on Banking Supervision (BCBS), CPMI-IOSCO Principles for Financial Market Infrastructures (PFMIs), Dodd-Frank and/or European Markets Infrastructures Regulations (EMIR) 
  • Excellent knowledge of financial markets
  • Sound knowledge of risk management models, common practice and overall risk management system
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools, Excel, PowerPoint, and/or SharePoint
  • Prior experience in databases, such as SAS, MS Access or SQL, is an advantage
  • Prior experience in statistical analysis is an advantage
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Self-starter highly motivated and must be team oriented with the ability to work in a fast paced environment with a strong delivery focus
  • Good project management and meticulous attention to details
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
