Job Description

General scope:
To provide technical support and maintaining companywide Unified Communications and Collaboration platform using Microsoft Lync Server 2010/ Lync Server 2013

As an Application Engineer T2 & T3 the candidate will work with the internal and client technical staff to support 24 x 7 production environments of Microsoft Lync Server including the AD. The responsibilities for the position includes;

Operations Support:

  • Handle issues reported by client and internal technical teams

  • Proactive health checks of client environments

  • Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management

  • Patch management (researching, testing, implementation and reporting)

  • Root Cause Identification

  • Lync Client troubleshooting

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Participation in Solution reviews

  • Vendor interaction and communications

  • Customer relationship management

  • Reporting

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Strong problem solving and analytical aptitude

  • Good understanding of Active Directory, DNS, TCP/IP, Networking & Firewalls

  • Good working knowledge of Windows 2008 Server Operating System

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in managing/supporting MS Windows Server and Application Layer software.

  • Customer focused and strong customer handling skills (Good verbal & Written Communication Skills)

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

  • Minimum 12 Months managing/supporting or implementing Lync Server 2010/2013 or prior version Office Communications Server

  • Certified in OCS/ Lync technologies (MSCE/ MCITP/ Other related Microsoft Certification)

  • Have general understanding of IP Telephony technology and PABX technologies

  • Have general understanding of Microsoft Exchange, Office 365

  • Have general understanding of Unified Communications Solutions
