Shariah Review Executive

  • To perform Shariah Review as per approved plan to evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal Shariah control.
  • To collect evidence through verification during the review in the areas of operational, financing and compliance.
  • Responsible for continuous review to ensure compliance with the BNM resolutions/guidelines, company's policies and procedures and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Brief and discuss review findings with the respective heads during closing meeting and to obtain appropriate responses from the business units.
  • Prepare review reports on each assignment and make recommendations for corrective action and conduct follow-up on agreed action plans where appropriate.
  • Able to deliver value-added recommendations for process improvement and ensure completion of assignments in conformance with planned budget and schedules.
  • Carry out any other appropriate duties as deemed fit from time to time.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Shariah or Islamic studies or equivalent. Academic credentials in the study of Usul Fiqh and Fiqh Muamalat will be of added advantages.
  • Minimum 1 year related experience preferably in any financial institutions.
  • Excellent analytical, advisory, report writing, presentation and communication skills, and problem solving.
  • High integrity and ethics value, creative in seeking information, facts and data with good interpersonal skills with positive attitude.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
