Global Risk is a thriving and expert risk management function supporting HSBC globally with all aspects of risk management. The team actively manages a varied and dynamic range of risk types, including security, fraud, information security, contingency, geopolitical, operational, credit, pension, insurance, financial crime and regulatory compliance, market and reputation risks. All parts of the Global Risk team use their skills, insight and integrity to handle established threats and those they see emerging, acting to protect and enable HSBC to deliver sustainable growth.

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Assistant Vice President, Credit Risk Analyst.

Principal responsibilities

  • To monitor the credit quality of the asset portfolio by constantly reviewing and reporting product performance.
  • To maintain and enhance Credit Management Information as an effective tool to analyse portfolio quality, business performance and customer performance
  • To suggest procedural and credit policy changes, thereby contributing to business performance while maintaining balance between risk and reward over the life cycle of our products and portfolios.
  • Develop and enhance differentiated risk based policies and portfolio management tools across all aspects of the credit cycle
  • Optimize credit quality through regular portfolio reviews and periodic updates of internal and external stress tests to ensure policies are consistently robust and aligned to environment
  • Make commercial decisions to support business improvement. Evaluate and support key business initiatives.

  • Strong analytical skills, logical and methodical thinking capability with statistical background and the ability to conduct statistical analysis of credit information.
  • Knowledge of new personal banking products and competitors in the market would be essential.
  • University graduate with economics, mathematics and statistics background with good experience of using SAS
  • Excellent working knowledge of SAS and Excel.
  • Experience of Credit Risk within Banking
  • Strong communication skills to communicate ideas clearly to peers and management.
