We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Assistant Vice President, Transaction Monitoring.

Principal responsibilities

  • Manage and lead a team of senior and junior transaction monitoring analysts and support staff regarding complex and sensitive investigations involving money laundering and terrorist financing.
  • Leads the development of a compliance monitoring framework to ensure that it can anticipate and quickly respond to the changing regulatory environment while remaining cost effective and proportionate to the level of risk and considering the need for continuing commercial business operation
  • Drives the implementation, operation and delivery of Compliance assurance activities that provide proactive, timely monitoring on the current and emerging risk environment to enable HSBC to continues to operate in a compliant manner
  • Provide guidance to Line of Business or relevant stakeholders where appropriate.
  • Monitors activities within the Anti Money Laundering Compliance Office to ensure compliance with applicable internal policies and procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Reviews and evaluates essential case elements to ensure consistent and comprehensive investigations have been satisfactorily completed.
  • Adhere to HSBC policy, procedures and control requirements, and raise any concerns about actual or potential issues promptly, in line with reporting and escalation procedures.

  • Relevant Anti Money Laundering experience, preferably in a private banking environment
  • Strong team management experience
  • Solid spoken and written English skills
The chosen candidate for this role will be required to undergo enhanced vetting. Subject to local laws, this will require the individual to satisfactorily pass a series of additional checks as part of the recruitment process and on an ongoing basis, if appointed to the role.
