Team Overview:

New opportunities exist in our Operations Control Team.  The Team’s role is to minimize firm’s risk by ensuring proper internal control is in place within the Bank’s Operations.   We are currently looking for risk and control management professionals with prior experience to support our various new initiatives in Asia (ex-Japan). 

Responsibilities:

Risk:

  • Prioritize risk issues and the efforts required to address them; identifying issues and formulating appropriate risk governance, measurement and reporting
  • Be able to identify and analyze risks embedded in operational processes and to propose actions to mitigate them
  • Manage Risk Control Self Assessment (RCSA) process for Operations
  • Help identify relevant and evolving risks facing Operations activities, changes to internal controls and assess the impact on the scope and strategy of the department
  • Collaborate with cross divisional/regional counterparts on risk related tasks/projects

Control & Regulatory:

  • Define control & regulatory framework, guideline and processes with AEJ Operations
  • Monitor and control the process of balance sheet substantiation for ledger balances contributed by Operations activities from AeJ
  • Execute the department policies, procedures and programs to promote quality and guide the efficient completion of SOX, internal/external audits
  • Advise management on matters concerning risk and controls
  • On Regulatory policy changes, analyze any impact to Operations
  • Ensure consistency globally with Asia, EMEA and U.S. Control & Regulatory teams

Requirements:

  • At least 7 years of relevant experience in Operations, ideally with Ops Control area
  • Prior project implementation experience would be a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Finance or related subject required
  • Be able to communicate effectively at all levels
  • First class presentation skills
  • A good negotiator with the ability to seek for buy-ins from key stakeholders from the business
  • A self starter with a strong attention to details, ability to multitask and enjoys problem solving
  • Strong analytic skills and ability to quickly learn new products and systems; can thrive in a challenging constantly changing environment
  • A dynamic and hardworking person, with a strong character and excellent inter-personal skills
  • High standard of English required, Mandarin/Cantonese/Japanese is a plus
