Job Description

Functioning within the OneCDD Client Risk Assessment (CRA) project team, you will be participating in driving the implementation of a scalable and efficient CRA engine that is in line with the CRA methodology, and working with other projects within OneCDD to ensure that CRA requirements are met. This will enable Standard Chartered Bank to deliver industry leading intelligence for Client Risk Assessments which aligns with the One Bank operating model.
This is a global solution across all segments and clients and thus will include managing several parallel initiatives and key dependencies/stakeholders and deliver strategic solutions. The CRA Data and Technology Governance Analyst is expected to perform analysis on existing data that will be used in the CRA projects as well as identify new data elements that are needed for CRA, identify business and operational impacts and risks arising from change programme initiatives, process re-engineering. This role will be supporting other OneCDD projects from a CRA / subject matter expert perspective through the different phases of the SDLC life cycle.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

Overall Responsibilities

  • Develop control structures within a complex environment to ensure the accuracy and quality of data through all upstream and downstream data channels.
  • Provide thought leadership and participate with projects that involve any of the upstream or downstream data flows and processes.
  • Ensure controls are in place over applications to ensure the data integrity by performing data integrity gap analysis.
  • Coordinate the resolution of data integrity gaps by working with the business owners and IT.
  • Work with business partners to gather and understand functional requirements, develop complex queries and provide reports.
  • Identify and impact assess data quality issues on project delivery and ability to escalate when required

Stakeholders Relationship Management
  • Work closely with the oneCDD and FCRMP PMO team to ensure data quality issues are well understood, managed and communicated
  • Work with other business and data analysts / process stakeholders within the CRA project and broader OneCDD team globally to define business / change requirements, identify the benefits, risks and mitigations from change programs and develop steps to implement project successfully
  • Work with members of the FCC team globally to analyse data, identify data quality issues and requirements
  • Where required, support global regulatory interaction, particularly in relation to requests for information from regulators

Risk Management
  • Responsible for highlighting and managing risks and issues to the project due to data inconsistency, and proactively chases mitigation and resolution
  • Have an awareness and understanding of the main risks facing the firm and the role the individual plays in managing them
  • Raise all issues and risks to the required OneCDD / FCRMP governance forums or reporting manager
  • Take ownership of issues/tasks and apply best practices to facilitate solution across client segments

  • Ensure a full understanding of the risk and control environment in area of responsibility

Governance
  • Adhere to the structure to the project and enforces rigorous project governance
  • Adhere to the strict change management process, to limit and control scope creep
  • Support the PSG / PSC in seeking sign-offs and approvals
  • Participate in assessing the effectiveness of the firm's arrangements to deliver effective governance, oversight and controls in the business and, if necessary, oversee changes in these areas
  • Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework in which the firm operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role
  • Participate in delivering 'effective governance'; capability to challenge fellow team members effectively; and willingness to work with any regulators in an open and cooperative manner.

Qualifications and Skills

Business and Technical Requirements
  • Strong understanding of databases and data structures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with Financial Services data is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Data Quality Processes, Management, Governance and Measurement
  • Fundamental understanding of relevant business processes and data segments
  • Robust lateral thinking, critical analysis and root cause analysis skills
  • Strong experience in SAS & SQL for analytical report production
  • Broad knowledge of banking with a good understanding of the Customer Due Diligence process and technology aspects of each business across retail and commercial corporate banking will be an advantage
  • Knowledge of SCB standard processes on project management, implementation and post implementation processes an advantage
  • Experience of working with senior stakeholders and IT staff
  • Ability to create effective working relationships across business & geographies
  • Focused, organised, results-oriented and works independently to strict timeframes
  • A team player with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to manage stakeholders across bank's network
