Officer, Business Support Lead II

Job Description:
Position is responsible for assisting Global Technology and Operations (GT&O) in the execution and maintenance of a proactive and effective risk management program related to regulatory management (e.g. regulatory exam management, key regulatory meetings, regulatory issue management), QA governance and thematic risk reviews. This highly visible role within Global Technology and Operations (GT&O) Business Control Monitoring & Readiness (BCMR) team governs and manages operational risks (people, process, systems, and external event risks) and controls across the various technology and operations units in Asia Pacific. This regional team interfaces between the global GT&O COO team and regional T&O units, as well as with regional risk partners in the business, Corporate Operational Risk, Compliance, and Corporate Audit. The work preformed within the risk programs will encompass all divisions within GT&O (internationally and domestically). 1) Provide visibility into regional regulatory environment, risks and mitigation to regional and global stakeholders, through prompt and appropriate management reporting.
2) Engage proactively developing/maintaining amicable relationships with business and risk partners within GT&O.
3) Fast paced team environment, potential change and unplanned events occur requiring urgency and management of concurrent tasks.
4) Evaluate information such as; regulatory changes and Bank standards to understand impacts, and ensure risk routines are adjusted accordingly.
5) Assist in identification of risks and performing thematic reviews of key high risk processes processes/systems to ensure controls are effective and comply with internal bank standards, applicable laws/regulations and appropriate management of operational risks.
6) Assist in preparing and managing regulatory exams and meetings (e.g. FRB OCC quarterly meetings)

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Approximately 3 years of working experience or more, preferably in the banking industry
  • Audit or risk management background a plus
  • Proficiency in using risk management tools and frameworks an added advantage
  • Strong understanding for risk identification, analysis, debate and resolution
  • Presentation skills and senior leadership presence
  • Regional regulatory and audit management exposure
  • Strong ability to navigate in a matrix reporting environment and regional as well global stakeholder management
