Senior Compliance Officer

Will assist with providing compliance advice and services, with a focus on the development and delivery of compliance strategy, framework and plans to ensure regulatory requirements are controlled within appetite, to support Allied World Singapore business activities and other Allied World branches in Asia Pacific as required, including Labuan, Australia and Hong Kong.


  • Develop and execute annual local Compliance Plan and provide relevant regulatory and compliance policy updates and advice to management and colleagues
  • Carry out compliance reviews and trainings and ensure appropriate controls and mechanisms are in place to manage compliance requirements
  • Serve as the appointed local Personal Data Protection Officer, Compliance Officer and Anti-Money Laundering Officer or other similar roles, as needed, and communicate and manage relationships with relevant authorities and trade associations
  • Assist in managing and developing the overall relationship between local regulators so as to ensure consistent and appropriate representation at all levels
  • Maintain knowledge of client's current business activities, and maintain awareness of laws and regulations to ensure compliance and update the business, as needed.
  • Manage relationships with other legal, risk, compliance and company colleagues to contribute to and implement Group initiatives, share best practices and enable effective communication and understanding of global/regional legal, risk and compliance issues
  • Work with and manage external counsel, as needed
  • Manage special projects as assigned


Qualifications
  • Minimum 4-6 years of compliance experience in the financial services sector
  • Expe rience with insurance, reinsurance, data protection, sanctions, anti-money laundering andanti-bribery and corruption matters within Asia Pacific
  • Experience dealing with local Singapore regulators
  • Knowledge of Singapore laws and regulations and other Asia Pacific jurisdictions
  • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • E xcellent communication (written and verbal), as well as strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to consider local, regional and Group business considerations when providing compliance advice
  • Capable of working independently as well as in a team environment
  • · Able to travel occasionally, as required
