An exciting opportunity to join our client, a global Investment Bank, as a Client Onboarding Specialist.

The Client Onboarding Specialist role will be responsible for the following duties, but not limited to:

  • Manage the customer and relationship manager expectations when onboarding the customer
  • Take ownership of customer enquiries and work collaboratively to achieve a resolution
  • Ensure all data gathering from customer is accurate and professional
  • Communicate with internal customers (i.e. enablers)
  • Build collaborative relationships with business partners and other key stakeholders in order to understand documentation requirements
  • Maintain open communication with stakeholders to ensure business requirements are met on an ongoing basis.
  • Working closely with the Relationship Managers and Global Markets Sales to introduce the customer to the bank and chaperone the customer from beginning to after the first transaction has settled
  • Monitoring the progress of Enablement areas to ensure excellent customer service is achieved at all times
  • Tracking the progress of enabler areas to ensure customer is satisfied with experience:
    • Ensuring all parts of the process for on-boarding a sophisticated investor are met from beginning to settlement of first transaction
    • Continual communication with the customer and all relevant functions to ensure customer is onboarded efficiently
    • Maintain the integrity of work and data generated and report regular communication with the relevant stakeholders
    • Develop and implement process improvements
    • Assist global team stakeholders as required to reduce delays in the onboarding setup
    • Improve timeliness, consistency, accuracy and knowledge to reduce errors.
    • Gathering and accurately presenting all relevant  information about the customer
    • Submitting ’know your client’/’anti-money laundering’ submissions
    • Project managing the integration with functions such as research and analysis, credit, legal and operations to ensure onboarding is completed in an accurate and timely manner
    • Ensuring data integrity of the Customer Onboarding System (Goldtier)
    • Ensuring all systems are accurately set up to avoid/eliminate post-trade error
    • Assisting with Service Level Management capabilities
    • Storage of Customer information and some documents on relevant central database
    • Conducting specific Customer research
    • Being integral in growing the investor sales business and being involved in other projects to ensure process is effective and standardised globally
    • Ensuring compliance with existing processes and escalation of customer issues
    • Manage and build relationships with customers and their Relationship Managers to ensure all requirements are met
    • Manage customer expectations and communicate to internal stakeholders
    • Build collaborative relationships with colleagues to enable objectives to be achieved within the team
    • Contribute to the development of a collaborative team environment
    • Working with Subject Matter Experts to scope documentation, resource and time requirements
    • Completion of customer suitability checks
    • Ensure all data collected is accurate and compliant within policy and jurisdiction regulations

Requirements: 

  • Experience of onboarding across different client types (i.e. Corporate, Hedge Funds, Financial Institutions
  • Familiarity with client on-boarding processes, KYC systems and workflow tools
  • In depth knowledge of KYC procedures and regulatory requirements
  • Knowledge of financial industry with in depth expertise in multiple lines of business (i.e. Futures and Options, trading, prime brokerage, loans...)
  • Strong AML / KYC experience. CAMS certification is a plust
  • Experience with investigations, business research and examination
