BP is looking for an experienced Compliance Analyst to join its Ethics & Compliance (E&C) function based in London. Joining them, you’ll be part of a team responsible for the implementation of an effective and consistent compliance programme, supporting a section of our trading business. On the guidance front, the team will provide accurate and timely advice to the business, whilst also sharing knowledge and building strong relationships with the other Compliance Analysts and the broader E&C community.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying, assessing and monitoring compliance risks and requirements applicable to the business
  • Advising the business on basic Anti-bribery & Corruption (ABC), High and Medium Risk Agents, Non-Operated Joint Ventures (NOJV), Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Account Opening queries
  • Advising on basic Conflicts of Interest, In-The-Know (ITK) and also basic Personal Account dealing queries
  • Delivering guidance on Financial Conduct Authority classifications and the opt-up process
  • Monitoring in respect of:  transactions, Deal Hopper/ITK, Customer Relationship Management tool, various business communications media and AML

As part of the Ethics and Compliance function, you’ll play a vital role in the team supporting the training of our trading business’ staff on regulatory and compliance requirements as well as BP’s standards for trading compliance – developing strong relationships with the business as a trusted business partner.  In collaboration with the Compliance Directors and Managers, you’ll maintain the compliance risk assessment and team plan whilst also generating the Quarterly Compliance Report.

To apply, you’ll need solid practical experience, knowledge and understanding of the regulatory laws and concepts in the financial sphere and be able to quickly develop an understanding of BP’s internal Anti Bribery and Corruption policies. With knowledge of control matters and ability to identify and assess compliance risks, you’ll be able understand and translate legal and regulatory concepts for business stakeholders at all levels of the organisation. Leveraging excellent oral and written communication skills you will work creatively to achieve identified goals both individually and as part of a broader global function. As well having strong problem solving and analytical skills and you should have strong work ethic supported by a keen attention to detail.
