Our Client a Global bank is looking for a hybrid Data analytics and financial crime expert to analyse, understand, and source data in order to eliminate the risks. This is a perm role up to 55K

Role Purpose

  • To be a highly-effective and valuable member of a growing global intelligence function that performs quantitative and qualitative analytics across a broad range of information/data sets of varying reliability, in order to identify risk intelligence and inform financial crime risk decision-making.
  • The role demands the independent interpretation of varied data sources for the purpose of search and extraction, in addition to the cleansing, structuring and analysis of data sets generated. The role will require the application of advanced data techniques such as:
  • ·         Utilizing SQL to extract data from a variety of source databases and combining the results with other intelligence sources using standard (e.g. selects, groups, orders, joins) and advanced SQL functionalities (e.g. windowing, partitioning, ranking);
  • ·         Performing ad hoc ETL processes using desktop tools such as Excel and Lavastorm;
  • ·         The application of statistical analysis techniques (significance, variance, correlations, decision trees/regression etc.) within analytic programming languages (e.g. Python, R, Base SAS, etc.) and Hadoop interface tools (e.g. Platfora);
  • ·         The application of context to produce meaningful and actionable intelligence outputs;
  • ·         The ongoing development of these techniques and models to improve overall performance.
  • The role holder will work alongside qualitative intelligence analysts within the Strategic Analysis team to provide the above listed data analysis inputs to their investigations. As needed, the role holder may also lead analysis on individual projects and drive their implementation, sourcing qualitative inputs from peers.
