Financial Crime Compliance aligns current activities within Global Risk and helps to build these into a more integrated framework to conduct Customer Due Diligence which enables HSBC to manage financial crime risk more effectively. It builds stronger controls to improve the way Financial Crime Compliance risks are managed in order to spot gaps as well as trends so that the team can take action. It proactively gathers and analyses financial intelligence in a smart way so that suspicious transactions, activities or connections can be identified and we can adequately protect our customers from the threat of financial crime.

We are currently seeking ambitious individuals to join our Financial Crime Compliance team, working together with colleagues to define, manage and achieve divisional business targets.

This role:
Supports the Global Head of Risk Appetite & Framework with strategic initiatives – which currently include the Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) and the FCC Issue Management.

Third Party Risk Management
•Partners with FCC functions, FCC regions, and FCC global business lines on the implementation of the TPRM, including:
•Defining expected FCC controls, overseeing 1st line of defence mapping of actual controls to questionnaires/process, and ensuring the process is sustainable and appropriate in managing the risk
•Being a central point of coordination for FCC when facing off to the TPRM, and working with RC teams to identify synergies
 Issue Management
•Partners with FCC Regional Risk Strategy teams to design and embed:
•Governance through which regional teams consistently track and manage issues related to FCC the function
•Reporting & Escalation through a consistent format to allow appropriate aggregation for senior management at Group and Regional levels
•Building relationship with the wider FCC community to educate on issue management, and maintain relative FIMs to hold action owners accountable.
•Other projects as required

To be successful in the role, it is likely that you should meet the following requirements:
• Extensive Financial Crime experience and strong knowledge of Financial Crime regulations and best practices/standards
• Proven ability to work across a complex organization
• Ability to analyze information and identify potential areas of concern that are fact-based
• Demonstrates ownership of topics and actively protects HSBC’s reputation
• Works well across diverse team and is willing to assist others as needed
• Exposure to an operations or control environment
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good communication skills, both verbally and written
• Strong interpersonal skills
