Fitch Ratings is currently looking for a Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC) Business Analyst. The candidate will be expected to act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in GRC, leading the analysis, review and discussions with internal stakeholders. In addition, the candidate will be called on to assist in the project management of this GRC initiative. This role will report to the Director of Regulatory Reporting.

Role overview:

Fitch Ratings is currently looking for a Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC) Business Analyst. The candidate will be expected to act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in GRC, leading the analysis, review and discussions with internal stakeholders. In addition, the candidate will be called on to assist in the project management of this GRC initiative. This role will report to the Director of Regulatory Reporting.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures policies and procedures for migration to the GRC system are established, documented and retained per Fitch policy;
  • Gathers and helps develop requirements and prepares supporting specifications that meet the application and product development needs for a GRC system, as well as providing efficient workflows and usability recommendations;
  • Functions as the GRC system SME and trains/supports internal stakeholders with the GRC systems usage, including one-on-one training and drafting training guidelines when necessary;
  • Analyses business problems/issues using technical knowledge to formulate solutions;
  • Maintains all versions and version control for all GRC program documentation;
  • Co-ordinates GRC-related project meetings, prepares meeting agendas, records and maintains meeting minutes, and ensures follow-up items are tracked;
  • Develops a deep understanding of Fitch Ratings processes particularly related to GRC workflows;
  • Coordinates GRC system improvement projects and activities to enhance system of record and maintain effective process controls;
  • Facilitates communication among business stakeholders, project management and IT to ensure buy-in and an understanding of project objectives, scope changes, requirements, project plans;
  • Assists with the development of project plans to monitor progress against clear milestones;
  • Supports the Project Lead;
  • Supports and contributes to unit, regression and acceptance testing of the GRC system and post implementation system audits;
  • Analyses the risks and future impact of technical decisions;
  • Contributes to additional assignments and projects as assigned.

 

Qualifications and experience:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 3-5 years of demonstrated experience in business and technical requirement analysis and project management;
  • Prior experience with a GRC system implementation;
  • Experience with GRC applications and requirements (e.g. MetricStream, Nasdaq-BWise, IBM-OpenPages);
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team;
  • Ability to evaluate relevant technology-related problems in a timely, orderly and insightful manner;
  • Ability to take responsibility for defining, communicating, gathering and translating requirements for IT-related projects;
  • Full understanding of IT development and documentation processes, and the ability to apply and enforce them within assigned business groups;
  • Ability to prioritize competing needs and meet established deadlines;
  • Ability to evaluate and form opinions about relevant issues;
  • Excellent time management capabilities for handling concurrent assignments;
  • Ability to translate business needs into IT deliverables;
  • Ability to understand technical complexities, relate to the team, provide better insight into the accuracy of estimations, and be able to identify risks proactively and efficiently;
  • Outstanding grasp of information technology concepts and processes;
  • Understands how and when to make a choice; how and when to escalate issues to higher levels;
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office applications, including Project and Visio.

GRC Specific Experience:

  • Certification/experience with one or more leading GRC technology solutions (e.g. MetricStream, Nasdaq-BWise, IBM-OpenPages);
  • Experience with implementing GRC programs and related supporting technology in the financial services industry;
  • Significant experience in defining business and functional requirements and working with technology teams to support these requirements through automation using GRC software;
  • Experience mapping of Requirements, Risks and Controls;
  • Experience normalizing requirements to create risk libraries and mappings to a single source;
  • Exposure and understanding of GRC tool and technology implementation, risk assessments, risk metrics and dashboards;
  • Assisting with project plans, requirements definition, documentation, vendor package implementation and support of the GRC platform;
  • Assisting with the development and operation of the GRC system governance structure;
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to identify manual processes suitable for migration into the GRC system.

Desirable:

  • Experience in the Financial Services industry;
  • Experience with data feeds, web services or web-based applications is a plus;
  • Experience with Agile and Waterfall development methodologies;
  • Experience with Blueprint for requirements and reviews;
  • Experience with Project Management methodologies, relevant PM software and holds related certifications (PRINCE2, PMP etc.).
