Investment Risk Manager

Location: London, England, United Kingdom

Salary: £Excellent Base + Benefits + Bonus

My client is a fund and asset manager that was established over 300 years ago. They manage money for a range of investors, from large family trusts through to SIPPS and ISA's.

They have over £30Bn in AuM and are a very highly regarded, professional firm with a very good market profile.

They are looking to hire an investment risk manager with excellent communication skills and a broad and deep understanding of portfolio construction and experience of conducting suitability checks over individual client portfolios.

The role will largely focus on conducting thematic reviews and deep dives into client portfolios so that an understanding can be gained of what the risk profile of each investment portfolio looks like. It is of vital importance to the firm that risk is effectively managed and that the investments closely match the clients expectations and tolerance to risk.

This is done in a number of ways, but primarily through the assessment of the clients personal circumstances and risk tolerance, a deep dive analysis into the portfolio structure (asset allocation, concentration etc.) and analysis of the outcomes versus client mandate (Total return, volatility, drawdown, Beta etc.)

There is a lot of work to do to bring their risk systems and processes up to date and there is a large transformation project going on to improve risk monitoring, analytics and reporting across the organisation.

The expectation is that the risk management function of the firm will be transformed over the next 2-3 years with the implementation of sophisticated tools for monitoring, modelling and reporting on risk.

This role would suit someone with the following profile:

An Investment Risk Manager from a Private Clients background who combines solid technical understanding of risk management with an outgoing and personable nature.

An investment manager that is looking for something more technical / analytical who is highly numerate and has a desire to work in risk management

A front office compliance manager who is able to demonstrate a deep understanding of portfolio structure.

The environment is friendly, supportive, collegiate, academic and nurturing. The people who work here are professional and buy into the culture creating a genuinely nice place to work.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly prestigious firm where you can add meaningful value to a whole host of changes that are taking place.

If you think you fit the bill, please email me your CV.
