Portfolio management with a credit focus on the Real Estate book. Position is based in Qatar

Strong profile that will be reporting directly to the CRO BUT managing both portfolio and Risk
- Credit & Real Estate experience is vital. Equity is a plus. In summary loan book experience must be present
- Portfolio is 55% Real Estate, 45% work out ''non'' real estate, all within US and Europe
- Accounting is a MUST. Most be extremely strong with numbers and operate a spreadsheet

Note: position is based in Qatar.

Objectives and responsibilities
This person would be a senior member of a team that manages and monitors the Firm's
portfolio of higher yielding direct financings to companies and to a lesser extent, a smaller
portfolio of equity and fund investments.

Reporting lines:
 Position reports directly to the Head of Risk Management
 One junior portfolio monitoring officer reporting into this position

Working relationships:
 Daily interaction with the transaction teams as well as the Risk Management Department
on the management and monitoring of the portfolio
 Interaction with borrowers to maintain effective lines of information, covenant, waiver
and data flows
 Frequent interactions with the Firm's Finance and Operations departments to ensure
consistency of management and monitoring process
 Periodic interactions with the investment committee, auditors and regulators to
demonstrate efficacy of portfolio management and monitoring

Manage and monitor the Firm's portfolio of higher yielding direct financings and to a
lesser extent, a smaller portfolio of equity and fund investments with the assistance of
one junior resource
 Ensure compliance with all approved terms, conditions and applicable covenants
(financial requirements, reporting, etc.)
 Immediate escalation of any issues or breaches
 Raise early warning signals regarding declines in operating performance, deviations from
investment case, non-compliance with covenants and stress testing of covenants levels
 Periodic calls with borrowers
 Monitor the value of collateral (if applicable) and highlight any issues
 Implement amendment and waiver requests
 Member of a team that implements work-out and restructuring of positions as needed
 Prepare and update monthly monitoring reports for review by the Risk Management
Department and transaction teams
 On-going monitoring of macro, industry or company specific news that may affect
individual names in the portfolio
 Coordinate with the Firm's Finance and Operations departments to implement
improvements to the firm's portfolio management and monitoring processes

Experience and skill set:
 8 to 12 years of experience at an investment bank, private equity fund or multi-national
commercial bank
 Experience with higher yielding financings, such as second lien, subordinated or
mezzanine financing, is required
 Experience with direct equity or fund investments is highly preferred
 Experience with real estate financings and investments is highly preferred
 Ability to work independently in a smaller, but fast paced entrepreneurial environment is
 Strong analytical skills backed by proficiency with numbers and concepts
 Ability to condense large and complex volumes of information into digestible concepts
 Expert level proficiency with Excel, Word and PowerPoint that is commiserate with level
of experience indicated above

Education summary:
 Bachelor's Degree from a top tier globally recognized university
 MBA from a top tier globally recognized university and/or CFA preferred
 Extensive university and/or MBA coursework or accreditation in accounting and finance
is required
 Formal credit training at an investment bank or commercial bank
