Purpose of the Role:

The European Regulatory Project team is responsible for leading the implementation of material new regulations and directives impacting State Street Global Advisors in Europe. You will be expected to lead a number of the key projects and work streams

Major Responsibilites:



  • Leading the impact assessment of new regulations applicable to SSGA based on a deep understanding of the business and regulatory changes


  • Running effective project meetings, tracking deliverables and calling out challenges where appropriate. Deliver management scorecards on project status.


  • Working both as part of the team and independently to bring issues to a close and to highlight potential impacts on the business.


  • Documenting proposals and keeping plans, risks and issues and minutes up to date. Providing input into consultation papers and presentations as required.



 Education and Experience :



  • Bachelor’s degree + minimum of 5 years relevant experience


  • Experience working for an asset management and/or service provider

 Specific Technical Knowledge/ Qualifications :



  • Asset management experience in Operations, Funds Management, Compliance, or Legal


  • Working knowledge of important new regulations including but not limited to MiFID II, EMIR, UCITS, Securities Finance Transactions Regulation, Benchmarks regulation.


  • Project management experience.


  • Advanced PC skills including Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Excellent communication skills and strong relationship builder across the business teams and divisions within State Street.


  • Ability to adapt to unfamiliar concepts and operate outside sphere of previous expertise. Approach issues in a logical and methodical manner.


  • Ability to handle complex issues and realign priorities and deliverables to ensure targets are achieved.


  • High level of initiative and ownership and ability to influence multiple partners


  • Keen interest in regulatory implementation and project management
