Scala Developer - Java - Fixed Income Derivative Systems - Risk - risk system City Investment Bank seeks a front office Scala/Java Developer to assist in the development of the firms Fixed Income Derivatives system. This role involves developing Risk, P&L and Valuation Adjustment functionality for a new Scala based risk system.

The successful candidate will work closely with a number of global teams within the Interest Rates Derivatives technology department and will be exposed to the business unit as well as the Investment Bank's middleware IT groups.

Key technical skills:

  • Excellent coding skill in Scala
  • Experience working on Distributed systems development using distributed caches and/or grid computation.
  • Risk systems development experience with experience of optimizing or developing Valuation, Risk or P&L calculations within a Fixed Income capacity.
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Commercial experience of all aspects of the software life cycle

Desired Experience:

  • Fixed Income business knowledge
  • Scenario Analysis systems experience
  • Experience with optimisation of calculations
  • Commercial experience with java performance and tuning
  • Junit, mocking frameworks (e.g. Mockito, EasyMock)
  • Unix/Linux shell
  • Eclipse/Intellij IDE
  • Knowledge of distributed systems
  • Grid computing frameworks
