As the Senior Lawyer in the Securities & Asset Management team you will work in-house for Lloyds Banking Group, providing insightful, high quality output, advice and guidance tailored to a range of stakeholder needs and to the wider Legal Community. You will be a member of the Securities & Asset Management Legal Team operating as a functional specialist advising on all matters relating to the management of the Commercial Banking portfolio as well as supporting securitisation transactions undertaken by Commercial Banking. You will undertake a wide variety of work supporting and advising the Group's business teams in Commercial Banking, including Client Asset Management, supporting the Distribution team that manages portfolio and single asset loan sales for Commercial Banking, and the Securitised Products Group, supporting the team that structures and arranges cash and synthetic securitisations in Commercial Banking.
Your key accountabilities will include acting as a source of professional expertise and being a trusted advisor to stakeholders in the Client Asset Management and Securitised Products Group business units within Commercial Banking, assisting with the development of precedent documentation, policy and procedures. You will deliver Legal technical input to positively influence transactions, product development and projects of significance for relevant business units and the Group.
Providing advice and guidance to business areas on Legal Risk Management using the relevant risk management policy framework is essential - you will be required to manage self in the context of relevant risk policies and frameworks. You will have the opportunity to contribute to reporting and escalation of legal or governance issues within own / supported area, inputting to recommended solutions as required, whilst supporting agreed change projects to deliver continuous improvement.
As a Senior Lawyer, you will be part of the Securities & Asset Management Legal senior team and expected to demonstrate leadership for more junior members of the team as well as managing senior stakeholders within the Legal Community and our business stakeholders. You will need to demonstrate that you are able to consider wider strategic and reputational considerations that our business units deal with and provide tailored and commercially minded legal advice to help the business achieve their aims. You will be expected to assist with driving cost efficiencies in how we manage our external legal spend and obtain best value from our legal panel firms, including managing any performance or relationship issues with those firms. In addition, you will positively influence others by demonstrating core Lloyds Banking Group values and behaviours.
You will have technical and specialist Legal knowledge of portfolio loan sales, secondary debt trading, cash and synthetic securitisations and structured finance transactions and you will be experienced in the related structures, transactions, market standards/best practice, associated risk and risk mitigation. You will also have a good appreciation of the regulatory framework and key regulations applying to the areas of technical and specialist knowledge. The successful candidate will also be commercial, solutions-focused, confident and an excellent communicator with experience of line managing or leading junior lawyers. You will need to work quickly and accurately to meet tight deadlines and have excellent organisational skills.
