Technical Writer

Location: San Francisco, CA, USA

We are looking for an energetic, self-starting, detail-oriented Documentation Specialist to work on various internal technical documentation needs for the Data Intelligence team. This is a 6-month position geared towards students pursuing an undergraduate degree in a college or university. The role may start as full-time over the summer and transition to part-time during the academic year, with flexibility in the number of hours depending on need and availability. Over the summer, this position is on-site in the Moody's Analytics San Francisco office.
  • Creation and organization of internal "how-to" documentation and diagrams for all data processes
  • Creation and update of data dictionaries for all data assets
  • Compilation and organization of internal documentation onto a centralized wiki repository
  • Creation of "frequently asked questions" and acronym glossary to support various departments and business operations


ERS Data Intelligence (DI) department.

  • Currently enrolled in STEM, Finance, or Economics
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, SharePoint
  • Knowledge of SQL is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to learn quickly and independently
