Right now, we are seeking a Legal Assistant , based at Western Union's global headquarters in Englewood, Colorado.

You will be responsible for providing administrative support for WU global employment, labor and compensation programs and projects, to primarily include Associate General Counsel and his/her reports, as well as administrative support to Senior Counsel and Counsel and their direct reports.

In addition you will:
  • Screen incoming calls for Associate General Counsel, Senior Counsel and Counsel ("Attorneys")
  • Provide effective calendar management: coordinate and schedule conference calls, meetings and travel for the Attorneys and their reports
  • Prepare travel bookings through the Western Union booking tool for Attorneys
  • Prepare expense reports through Concur for Attorneys
  • Compose correspondence, draft email responses, spreadsheets, and presentations as required
  • Read all business emails for Associate General Counsel and prioritize for printing and filing the emails in the ELG. Respond to emails daily (Email management)
  • Establish and maintain Global Employment, Benefits and Labor Law Group hard copy and electronic filing system (Filing)
  • Maintain the ELG monthly invoice approval process (to include billing, matter set-up, reports, and troubleshooting billing issues) - Serengeti Tracker
  • Perform typing and revision of legal documents
  • Perform copying, faxing and filing
  • Distribute mail daily
  • Maintain department address book and International Outside Counsel List
  • Maintain office supplies
  • Assist with or coordinate special projects as assigned
  • Renew organization memberships, legal subscriptions, registrations, and filing of CLE credits for Attorneys
  • Work regular business hours and additional hours, as needed
  • All other duties as reasonably requested
  • 3-5 years previous experience as a Legal Assistant (in either an in-house or law firm environment) - Minimum Requirement
  • Experience with Employment Law preferred
  • HS degree or equivalent, minimum of a 2 year degree preferred or if limited legal experience then a college degree with specific focus in pre law
  • Proven ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
  • Accurate typing speed of at least 60 wpm
  • Strong team player
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment to make administrative decisions, identify proactive solutions and problem solve
  • Ability to show initiative
  • Ability to be flexible
  • Ability to manage in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities while maintain high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to efficiently access and use social media for employment related matters
  • Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office software specific in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe and .pdfs
  • Strong professional and effective interpersonal verbal and written communication skills and ability to manage multiple personalities
  • Experience with automated office equipment
  • Ability and experience to conduct legal research, interpret and apply information to complete projects
  • Ability to manage lengthy documents drawn from multiple sources
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and tasks
  • Must be highly organized
