Timber Hill is a market maker in equity options, futures and index products around the world. Timber Hill was founded on the principle that a computerized trading system that could process pricing and integrated risk exposure information quickly would allow the firm to profitably make markets in many different listed financial instruments simultaneously. The Company's market making is focused on capturing bid/offer spreads in the course of providing liquidity in listed financial instruments. Timber Hill has revolutionized trading in exchange-traded equity options and equity-index options and futures through the use of technology to automate and integrate trading and risk management functions.

Interactive Brokers Group is seeking for its Greenwich, CT offices, a Junior-Level candidate that has a desire to begin a career in regulatory trade reporting and compliance analytical work. The successful candidate would learn to use Bloomberg as well as to report and research trade issues using systems such as:

  • Fixed income systems: TRACE, RTTM and RTRS,
  • Stock trade reporting facility systems: NASAQ TRF (aka ACT) and FINRA OTC Reporting system
  • Order Audit Trail systems ("OATS"),
In addition, the candidate would assist in assembling and reviewing data for regulatory responses, examinations and regular supervision/surveillance.

The Jr. Compliance Analyst is assigned to act in a middle-office compliance position with respect to regulatory reporting of trades and positions. This position is responsible for reviewing surveillance reports, investigating and resolving issues by working with regulators, traders, programmers and operations personnel.

Responsibilities :

Focus will primarily be on the ability to i dentify and research potential regulatory reporting issues for fixed income and stock trades. This person will perform post trade processing reconciliations and middle office support services to ensure accurate and timely trade reporting.

While operations-focused, the successful candidate must also the a bility to read and apply industry regulations to assist in the completion of requests from regulators. The candidate for this position will obtain and analyze large sets of data using desk top tools such as MS Excel and Access . The right candidate will have the opportunity to also learn UNIX commands and shell scripting.

Qualifications :

  • Education: University degree ( BA/BS ) required.
  • Required skills: Advanced Excel skills. UNIX & SQL knowledge is a plus. Any programming and/or databases experience is highly desirable.
  • Excellent quantitative/analytical ability is required.
  • Strong i nterpersonal & project management skills are required as the position requires meeting deadlines for many contemporaneously running projects while continuing to perform on-time trade reporting.
  • This position requires no prior experience in the financial services industry however, exposure to securities or commodities trading either through internships or personal trading experience is desirable.
