Legal is organized by practice groups that generally conform to the corporation's lines of business ("LOBs") and corporate staff areas. This facilitates streamlined communication of legal and regulatory changes to the business lines and for the business lines to communicate business developments that have legal or regulatory implications to Legal in a timely manner. Position Summary - The Business Management Analyst provides centralized reporting support for the General Litigation Department and Litigation Business Management team using a complex matter management system. Reporting is generated using Microsoft Access based querying which assists the Business Management and Litigation teams with reporting that help drive the department's strategic agenda through expense management, planning & analysis, resource management and organizational management. The candidate will also be responsible for continuing to enhance the controls and efficiencies over the reporting processes that include the identification and resolution of issues/errors, tracking and resolution of data quality issues and process improvements to reduce cycle time. The ideal candidate will be well balanced, able to work independently and well with others, have excellent communication skills and knowledge of Microsoft Access querying or SQL, Microsoft Excel or Microsoft PowerPoint. This position is based in New York City.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fulfill Litigation reporting needs of Business Managers, Practice Group Management and Litigators.
  • Support the RFP (Request for Proposal) team on requests related to the disclosure of information in connection with RFPs, transactions, contracts that require litigation disclosure, responding to legal questionnaire/audits, regulatory exams or similar requests that require third party disclosure.
  • Coordinate with the Litigation Support and Reporting team and Technology teams around resolution of issues/errors within the matter management system.
  • Assist with support of non-monetary settlement process which involves maintaining repository site and databases, and coordinate updates to requests and publishing updates.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • 2+ years' experience in reporting and/or business analysis
  • Moderate to Advanced Microsoft Access or SQL skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Comfortable working with large quantities of data; strong reconciliation and process management experience
  • Superior oral and written communication and relationship building skills.
  • Good judgment and poise to enable interaction/influencing of senior level staff.
  • Disciplined approach to managing processes and controls.
  • Comfortable with conveying complex requests to Technology and, Operations groups
