BlackRock Corporate Attorney, VP

BlackRock Solutions' legal department is seeking a transactional attorney with 3 to 5 years of experience in commercial negotiations and contracting to support our business. The role will include responsibility for negotiating arrangements with service and product providers to BlackRock, supporting BlackRock Solutions' client-facing business, and executing on projects designed to improve business impact, mitigate legal and regulatory risk, and to enable BlackRock to best serve its clients. The attorney will work closely with the leadership teams across BlackRock to provide both legal and business guidance in support of strategic technology projects, strategic sourcing activities and other key initiatives.

Responsibilities:


•Analyze, present and advise BlackRock's functional and management teams on corporate and business law issues.
•Structure, draft and negotiate technology agreements, including business software licenses, hosted services agreements, electronic trading platforms, digital marketing engagements, and network telecom agreements.
•Structure, draft and negotiate index and market data licenses and redistribution arrangements.
•Provide legal counsel on a global basis on service provider agreements with accounting and audit providers, advertising and marketing firms, and facilities vendors.
•Support the business development and product development processes by providing key inputs and advice.
•Negotiate agreements for the provision of enterprise investment systems, and risk management tools.
•Work in a fast-paced and business-oriented environment with business groups throughout BlackRock.

Requirements:


•JD with a minimum of three years of experience, preferably at a major law firm or in-house at a corporate legal department.
•Corporate transactional, contracts negotiation and/or commercial transaction experience, preferably with background in technology and intellectual property related matters.
•Demonstrated ability to learn business requirements quickly, analyze legal and commercial risks and propose creative, business-oriented solutions.
•Ability to interact directly with internal business managers and subject matter experts to address the needs of a growing global business in a thoughtful and practical manner.
•Ability to effectively support a team of senior attorneys, and to assess, calibrate, communicate and handle evolving priorities in a dynamic and rewarding environment.
