The JPMorgan Chase Audit Department is accountable to the Audit and Examining Committee of the Board of Directors, the Office of the Chairman, senior management and global and local regulators. The department has in excess of 700 staff, located in key locations across the globe. The Audit Department is responsible for assessing the adequacy of the control environment across the firm's lines of businesses through a program of audit coverage that is performed and managed by a team of integrated technology and financial business audit specialists.

Chase Consumer & Community Banking (CCB) serves nearly 66 million consumers and 4 million small businesses with a broad range of financial services, including personal banking, small business banking and lending, mortgages, credit cards, payments, auto finance and investment advice.

Within CCB, Auto Finance provides auto loans and leases to consumers through a national network of automotive dealers as well as provides auto loans through bank branches and online at Auto Finance also provides commercial loans and floor plan financing to auto dealers throughout the U.S. The audit team responsible for assessing the Auto Finance control environment is primarily based in New York.

This role is for an experienced Audit professional to join the Auto Finance audit team. As an experienced Auditor you will be responsible for risk assessments, control identification, audit testing, control evaluation, and follow-up and verification of issue closure related to the Auto Finance business. In addition, you will be involved in assessing the adequacy of controls around various projects. This position is located in New York, New York.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Establish strong relationships with management in Auto Finance and related control groups such as Risk Management, Compliance, and Audit colleagues
  • Lead audit engagements covering Auto Finance including risk assessments, audit planning, audit testing, directing audit staff, control evaluation, audit report drafting, and follow-up and verification of issue closure
  • Accountable for meeting deliverables and adhering to department standards
  • Provide coaching and feedback to other team members
  • Monitor key risk indicators, significant change activities and escalation of emerging business issues to management in a timely fashion.
  • Stay up-to-date with evolving changes and market events impacting the Auto Finance channels and products
  • Develop recommendations to strengthen internal controls and improve operational efficiency

  • Must have 5-7 years of relevant experience in internal/external auditing, or consulting
  • Must have experience planning/leading/executing audits or similar projects, and providing staff with written and verbal feedback
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or other related discipline. An MBA degree and/or professional certification, such as CPA, CIA, or CISA is a plus
  • Knowledge of key banking and consumer regulations
  • Proficiency in risk analysis, and strong analytical skills particularly in regard to assessing the probability and impact of an internal control weakness
  • Proven ability to multi task, complete projects on time and on budget, and be able to adapt to changing priorities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex and sensitive issues to senior management in a persuasive manner
  • Enthusiastic, self motivated, and effective under pressure
  • Proven ability and desire to learn quickly, be flexible and think strategically
  • Prepared to travel to business locations domestically (up to 25%)
