The Audit Department provides the Board of Directors, senior management and regulators with an independent assessment of JPMorganChase's (JPMC) control environment. Audit works closely with the Lines of Business (LOBs) and their support functions to achieve its mission through the execution of a comprehensive audit program designed to test the effectiveness of the controls in place to mitigate the risks inherent in each business.

The CIB Finance Audit Team manages a program of coverage over the CIB financial controls, including integrity/accuracy of financial statements, compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory reporting requirements, adequacy of capital computations and forecasting, and accuracy of legal entity booking and controls.

This role is a Vice President - Audit Manager on the North America CIB Finance audit team, based in New York. It provides the opportunity to gain an understanding of JPMC's CIB businesses, legal entity structure, internal booking practices, management reporting and external/regulatory reporting. Key responsibilities include development and execution of the annual audit plan, managing audit engagements, overseeing or performing audit testing, conducting audit continuous monitoring by maintaining ongoing relationships with business management and review/analysis of key metrics, and participation in regular control and governance forums.

Responsibilities

  • Drive all aspects of audit activities including risk assessments, audit planning, audit testing, workpaper documentation and review, control evaluation, issue identification, drafting of audit reports, and verification of action plan closure. This may entail leading a team of auditors or acting as individual contributor in planning, testing and reporting on the effectiveness of controls that support CIB Finance. This is conducted in accordance with department and professional standards and will require the presentation of issues and root cause analysis to management.
  • Work with global line of business auditors in the early identification of emerging control issues and reporting them to line of business and audit management. Perform monitoring of financial and control indicators to recognize patterns and trends with risk and control implications.
  • Build and maintain key relationships with stakeholders, establishing a culture of engagement while adding value.
  • Stay up to date with evolving accounting, regulatory and market developments impacting the CIB's Finance unit.
  • Establish a culture that encourages integrity, respect, excellence and innovation


Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 8 years audit, operational risk, regulatory or relevant business line/accounting experience
  • CPA, CIA, MBA, CFA, or CFE designation preferred
  • Exposure to Capital Markets businesses preferred
  • Ability to lead and manage audits
  • Ability to work individually and in teams, share information, support colleagues and encourage participation
  • Proficiency in risk assessment, issue/impact analysis and executive report writing
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to present complex and sensitive issues to senior management
  • Ability to multitask
  • Enthusiastic, self motivated, effective under pressure and open to new learning opportunities
  • Experience interacting with regulators preferred
  • Understanding of broker dealer net capital and reserve requirements, liquidity reporting and Basel capital rules is a plus
