CIO/Treasury - Middle Office Trade Support - Associate - NY, NY

The Corporate Treasury Funding Desk's business globally engages in a wide array of products which include: Time Deposits, CD's, Fed Funds, Commercial Paper and Long/Medium-Term Debt. Approximately 2000 transactions per day totaling $200 billion are supported by our teams, utilizing multiple trade capture and settlement platforms (including IRFE/Athena, E-Depot, and TSS-MM). The nature of the products require that the Treasury Money Market team must provide sufficient resourcing to facilitate settlement across multiple currencies and time-zones, while providing the necessary cash management required on a daily basis to support these markets.

Working within the Middle Office supporting Treasury-CIO's business in North America, you will be helping to lead and drive the group's business development in an ever changing dynamic funding/trading/hedging environment. A qualified candidate will provide middle office trade and risk support to the Corporate Treasury Front Office. This includes position management, risk management and reporting across multiple JPMC branches/legal entities, including: JPMC&Co, JPMCB, JPMCB IBF, JPMCB Nassau, JPMCB Toronto, Chase Bank USA, Chase Bank USA Cayman. This position will be required to work closely with the Front Office traders and the money market desk to fully understand business drivers and support requirements. Daily interactions will also include Back Office settlements teams and Accounting teams as well as Internal Line of Business partners and Technology.

A successful candidate will have a mind attuned to engineering to identify and bring to fruition developmental opportunities, while being responsible for producing accurate and timely reporting to the desk, market risk and to senior management with a strategic view on reconciling, validating and building systems and processes with a keen emphasis on driving the business forward in an ever evolving and highly controlled environment. Trade Support:

  • Trader deal entry/verification into multiple trade capture systems for a variety of treasury products and instrument classes.
  • Run and Review trade control reports.
  • Monitor cash positions for Chase Bank USA, JPMCB Toronto, IBF and Nassau branches.
  • Write and maintain current standard operating procedures.
  • Assist with Liquidity Funding Management reports.
  • Disaster Recovery and UAT testing.
  • Producing reports and presenting data to traders, such as position inventory, or risk exposures as required by front office.
  • Any additional support and tasks as required/assigned.
Risk :
  • Reviewing, understanding, explaining and reporting the day-over-day move in risk and position using disparate data sources and a centralized data warehouse.
  • Provide sensitivity based P&L attributions with a focus on minimizing any residual component.
  • Controls, reconciliations, integrating and monitoring of Intra-day viewer (including: PB3/Data Warehouse/Trpl) for hierarchy, position and risk.
  • Understand, produce, consolidate, and review daily/weekly risk reporting for senior management and FO, including foreign country exposures, asset concentration limits, firm-wide risk reports, etc.
  • Responding to various ad-hoc information requests by other functions, such as Market Risk, Valuation Control Group (VCG), CFO / Business Managers.
  • Calculating, agreeing and reconciling traders P/L estimates to the actual results, explaining variances to FO
  • Ownership of front-to-back operational support for FO


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 2 years of experience in public accounting.
  • Experience on audit teams of financial institutions such as banks, insurance companies, hedge funds and asset managers is a plus.
  • Alternatively, relevant experience in Product Control, Financial Reporting or Middle Office P&L groups will be considered with demonstrable exposure using or posting to a general ledger system.
  • Industry and operational knowledge of the banking and finance.
  • An understanding of the assets classes transacted in CIO Treasury such as Money Market products, Fixed Income securities and foreign exchange.
  • Some exposure to Money Market Operations, Accounting for derivatives and securities held as AFS.
  • Experience in identifying and implementing process improvements.
  • Proven track record of presentation preparation and delivering communication to management.
  • Building and maintaining strong business, operations and technology relationships
