Morgan Stanley Services Group Inc. seeks a Secured Financing Technology Associate, Developer in New York, New York

Work as a developer on Morgan Stanley's Funding & Counterparty Technology team. Help build systems allowing the Firm become more efficient at the multi-billion dollar financing decisions that underlie the repo, stock loan, and prime brokerage businesses. Focus on the design and analysis of a future state that seeks to build and support sophisticated and complex user interfaces, data analytics, integrations with other systems/applications, rules and calculation engines, flexible reporting, and scenario analytics. Perform business-facing applications development, which builds strategic and tactical software to connect all activities required to fund the Firm, including stock loan, secured funding, treasury, cash management and OTC, cleared and listed derivatives. Contribute to projects that provide risk management for the financing that the Firm delivers to its clients. Perform standard and innovative modifications to enhance and optimize existing applications and modules in accordance with high-level specifications, application support, and industry standards. Participate in code reviews, testing, quality assurance, release, Level 3 support, and training of new applications. Actively handle issues, risks, action items, and change control in accordance with documented procedures. Utilize Java, C#, shell scripting, Business Process Modelling, Spring framework, Mockito Framework, JBehave, and SQL scripting. Interact with variety of different databases including Sybase and DB2. Use multi-threading and concurrency to make systems efficient and reduce the response time for requests. Work with Linux and Windows operating systems.

Requirements :

Requires a Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study and three (3) years of experience in the position offered or three (3) years of experience as an Associate, Systems Engineer, or related occupation. Will accept a Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of experience in lieu of a Master's degree and three (3) years of experience. Requires two (2) years of experience with: developing distributed applications across UI, server, and database tiers; modelling multi-path state management systems that can be used to develop workflow systems across a variety of domains; developing systems catering to the trade life cycle for derivatives/stock loans/repos or systems catering to tri-party custodian settlement; directly interacting with business users at all levels; programming in core Java; programming queries and stored procedures in databases (Sybase or DB2); programming in C#; business process modelling; using Excel to analyze large sets of data and to create pivots, lookups, and summaries; reading and writing shell scripts on Unix/Linux platforms; loading and transforming large data sets; Object Oriented Programming; analyzing the impact of code/environmental changes on business units; and agile development practices, unit testing (Junit and Nunit), and integration testing.
