MS Wealth Management (MSWM) Technology
Morgan Stanley Wealth Management (MSWM) Technology is the global technology department responsible for the design, development, delivery and support of the technical solutions behind the products and services used by the Morgan Stanley Wealth Management (MSWM) business. The department is comprised of 10 organizations: Sales, Banking & Corporate-Client Technology, Investment Products & Markets Technology, Client Reporting, Core Processing, Private and International Wealth Management Technology, Technology Integration Office, Enterprise Infrastructure & Production Management, Capital Markets Application & Data Services, Deployment Planning & Release Management, and the Chief Operating Office. Morgan Stanley Wealth Management (MSWM) Technology works with large scale databases such as DB2 and SQL Server, proprietary and non-proprietary messaging software, a broad variety of vendor products, numerous financial exchanges and regulatory entities, and programming languages ranging from .Net and Java to Cobol and VB.Net.
This position is for a Project Manager for the Practice Management Program team within Morgan Stanley Wealth Management- Field and Client Technology (FACT) at Morgan Stanley's New York offices.
The charter of this team is to provide an overall project management across the Practice Management Learning Platform Development within the Platform Transformation Initiative to help coordinate across different IT and Business areas. The candidate will drive the execution of the Practice Management Learning Platform; a dynamic program that will result in the creation of customized learning curriculums driven off of an FA's metrics, patterns of behavior and overall career objectives. The candidate will lead a team of 4 developers through all phases of the development lifecycle. Additionally, the candidate will lead a subset of projects to deliver a strategic solution to the platform, spanning different IT and Business units. This position be required to work with PMs, Cornerstone On Demand (CSOD), business/data analysts and work with other platform teams; driving issue analysis & resolution, educating peers, and drive the project throughout the SDLC process until execution.
The Candidate would play a role in the execution of the Program with the following responsibilities:
-Define the scope of the project in collaboration with senior management
-Create a detailed tech design which would require strong JAVA skills and an understanding of Angular architecture. Determine the resources required to complete the project
-Develop a schedule for project completion that effectively allocates the resources to the activities
-Determine the objectives and measures upon which the project will be evaluated at its completion
-Execute the project according to the project plan
-Monitor the progress of the project and make adjustments as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the project
-Establish a communication schedule to update stakeholders including appropriate staff in the organization on the progress of the project
-Review the quality of the work completed with the project team on a regular basis to ensure that it meets the project standards
-Ensure that the project deliverables are on time, within budget and at the required level of quality
-Evaluate the outcomes of the project as established during the planning phase
-Provide guidance and direction to the program and other teams involved
-Support issues resolution and delivery across department teams
-Create and present executive level documentation for use in program status and communications
-Support program / project management routines
The candidate should be flexible, highly adaptable and excellent team player. The candidate should expect to work in a global virtual team along with NY and India team members, sometimes across multiple time zones. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated team player committed to delivering on time and should be able to work under minimal supervision.
The key skills required are:
-Strong Java experience
-D2 Graph and charting
-SQL Server or a similar distributed relational DB
-Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously
-Excellent written/oral communication skills and listening skills
-Ability to analyze vague data inquiries, clarify into specific tasks, next steps and deliverables
-Bachelor's/Master's Degree from a top tier university
