You'll work closely with the Directors and enjoy meaningful client interaction, exposure to a diverse client base, and genuine long-term career opportunities.The firm embraces modern technology, utilising MYOB Accountants Enterprise, Xero, MYOB cloud solutions and BGL software for SMSF administration and compliance.

Your new role
As a Senior Accountant, you will manage a broad portfolio of business services and taxation clients while providing outstanding client service and practical advice.Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparation of financial statements and income tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals
• Preparation of SMSF financial statements and compliance obligations (optional depending on your experience)
• Management of client compliance matters including BAS, IAS and other taxation requirements
• Researching and interpreting taxation legislation and providing advice to clients
• Building strong relationships with clients and becoming a trusted adviser
• Identifying opportunities to assist clients with business improvement and advisory matters
• Supporting and mentoring junior accountants where required
• Working closely with the Directors on complex client matters and advisory projects

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will have:

• CA or CPA qualification completed
• 3+ years' experience within an Australian public practice accounting firm
• Strong technical knowledge of Australian taxation legislation and compliance requirements
• Experience preparing financial statements and tax returns across a range of entity structures
• Strong working knowledge of Xero and cloud-based accounting systems
• SMSF experience, including preparation and compliance obligations (optional)
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical matters clearly
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
• A commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous learning
