We are working with a Defence industry organisation that is continuing to expand its team in response to growing demand across a portfolio of advanced capability and technology programs.
This permanent opportunity can be based in Brisbane or Canberra and will see you joining a multidisciplinary engineering environment, working alongside project, engineering and industry stakeholders to support the secure delivery of complex systems and emerging technologies. Due to the nature of the work, applicants must hold a current NV1 Security Clearance.
Your new roleAs a Cyber Security Specialist, you will provide cyber engineering and assurance expertise across the design, certification and introduction of complex technology platforms within a highly regulated environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting cyber assurance, certification and security engineering activities across complex technology programs
- Developing and reviewing security certification plans, documentation and verification evidence
- Contributing to security risk management, system hardening and secure-by-design outcomes
- Supporting security compliance activities aligned to frameworks such as NIST and industry best practice
- Participating in technical reviews, governance forums and stakeholder working groups
- Engaging with engineering teams, project stakeholders and industry partners to ensure security requirements are achieved
- Providing cyber security subject matter expertise across the capability lifecycle
- Tertiary qualifications in Cyber Security, Information Technology, Engineering or a related discipline
- Experience in cyber security engineering, cyber assurance, certification or security architecture
- Knowledge of security frameworks such as NIST, STIGs or equivalent standards
- Experience across areas such as network security, system hardening, secure software development and cyber risk management
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Experience operating within highly regulated, complex or security-sensitive environments
- Current NV1 Security Clearance
