Head of Investment Operations
Support the COO-Investments in delivering strategic and optimal investment operations functions as a part of a rapidly growing investments team.This senior role will be responsible for the strategic management of Cbus’ investment operations function, including the strategic relationship management of the Fund’s custodian and ensuring that the investment operations continues to support the Fund’s requirements across the investment team and the Fund, including supporting new products, regulatory reporting, compliance, risk management and governance requirements.
This role has primary responsibility for directing and managing all investment operations activities of the fund and ensuring the successful implementation of investment strategy. This includes, as a member of the leadership team and under the guidance of the COO – Investments this role is responsible for demonstrating and providing leadership, making decisions, setting priorities and providing direction to managers, staff and third party vendors. You will ensure the investment operations strategy and plans are aligned with the investment strategy, fostering a motivated and accountable team by empowering, coaching and developing managers within the team whilst ensuring control and compliance with general operational risk management standards and regulatory requirements in all areas of operations and driving a strong strategic relationship with the Fund’s custodian, ensuring that this key outsourced relationship is optimised and supportive of the key strategies.
The successful applicant will have sound investment, financial market & product knowledge, particularly in investment operations and risk management at an institutional level. Be able to demonstrate and apply proven knowledge of various custodian roles, investment implementation and investment operations with extensive experience in a senior investment role and ideally a background in superannuation, funds management or asset consulting.
Tertiary qualification in a finance, investment, economics or related discipline - CFA or equivalent level of post graduate qualifications would be an advantage
